we declare Your Perfection above and beyond all: we have no knowledge whatsoever except what You have taught us. No doubt it is You, and You alone that is all Knowledgeable and all Wise. (al-Baqarah, 32)

Nothing Box

So I was made in charge of a certain co-curricular body called RIMUP (Rancangan Integrasi Utk Perpaduan, for the unitiated) recently. The teacher who was previously in charge of it told me how last year was the best and about the many activities they he had carried out last year. He went on and on talking about how I should handle it...

I think at least half an hour passed...

at the end of that oh-so-tiring-I'm-not-even-listening-1 way conversation, he told me not to worry about anything and look at last year's file to get me up to speed with my latest position..

He also gave me all sorts of books related to the job.

Later that night, I went to get said file from the office.

There was nothing in it.....

Nothing Box performed by Hypnogaja, was the 1st song I heard from Hypnogaja and I really like it. Good song.

Too much, too young, too fast

So much work, so little time.

Thanks to these administrative jobs I'm 'offered' 24 hours is no longer enough. On a normal day, I go to school around 10a.m and return home at 7, rest for a couple of hours and then back to school until 11p.m at the earliest. Overtime has simply become routine.

And the best part is that most of the so called 'work' I do doesn't even involve teaching. I barely have time to really sit and think how to teach in my next lessons. It really makes me rethink my line of profession. Am I a teacher, or am I a clerk? Maybe a teaching clerk??

Oh,I think the best answer is a zombie.

*Too Much, Too Young, Too Fast is a song that, if memory serves, performed by The Airborne. It's kind of messy but its alright. 3 stars

The Time We Had

It feels like it was only a few days ago since the holiday started and it has already drawn to a close. It wasn't the longest holiday, but it sure was one of the best I've ever had, ever.

A good friend of mine got married, I got to meet many of my good buddies, and I even watched that stupid excuse of a movie Dragonball. How can it not be the holiday ever?!

And it definitely wouldn't have been half as wonderful had it not been for these very special people

In fact, I doubt it would even turn out this way if it was anyone other than them. I could never thank them enough for the fact that they were willing to go out of their way to pick me up all the way in Kuantan.

No one ever told me we had sightseeing as a secondary objective though. I totally thought we were going to the wedding and head straight home. But even the person who dislikes travelling I am thoroughly enjoyed every moment of that trip, even that night when we got lost, even that prolonged visit to Pasar Payang, even those weird banners and signboarfds we came across, and yes, even that moment Ali G got first ticket for passing at a no passing lane. Serves him right! ... uh, I was just kidding. Jangan marah ye Ali G =p.

Really, there was almost never a dull moment with you guys around. And for that short period of time, it almost seemed that all my work-related problems had just vanished into thin air.
This signboard is just out of this world

I only wished that it could have went on for a little longer (..and while I'm at it, I wish that the holiday won't end). Alas, like every other good things, it had to come to and end. Even so, this memory will be something that I will cherish forever. 本当に、ありがとうございます。

Time We Had, performed by The Mother Hips. Nice, relaxing song which always makes me feel nostalgic when listening to. Recommended listed. Give it a try.

Pre-marriage course nightmare

What is the best way to ruin the last 2 days of a great holiday? For me, it's attending a pre-marriage course. Today is the first of 2 days which I'm supposed to attend in order to get a cert which will allow me to LEGALLY get married and the experience thus far has been less tha favourable. Honestly, it's so terrible that it made KISSM felt awesome. Heck, I could spend a whole day playing video games and it would still be a more productive day than today.

There was only 1 out of a total of 5 sessions today that I find interesting which was about 'akidah' (deals with faith and religion) and that was probably only because I am deeply fascinated by religion. The other 4 were a total snore-fest where just trying to keep my eyelids open was an epic struggle.

It doesn't help much that I really detest most of the speakers for the day. From what I can tell, it was like the majority of them had only a couple of points to deliver and they expanded on ONLY that for a period of over and hour. Also, they others around me seemed to enjoy the fairly frequent pervy remarks thrown at us. Personally, I think that its just disgusting. Way to destroy your credibility old man!

All this made me question the necessity of the course. I paid RM80 for it and the thing that I took most of it was having a shut eye in the hall. Instead of this crap, they should just make a pre-marriage test, and only enlist those who fail the test in the pre-marriage course. That way, people like me won't have to waste 2 precious days of my terrific holiday for such a terrible , time-waster of a course.

*note : I'm speaking of my experience with the course handled in Kuantan, this does not necessarily represent the courses in other parts of the country.

Black or White

On a sheet a white paper, a single black spot sticks out even more than a sore thumb. Anybody who looks at that paper is bound to notice it. That's because black and white are polar opposites - the ying and the yang. It's only natural that they don't get along well. A world where black and white are brought together is a harsh one - it is a battlefield! Think reversi, the battle which pits black against white on a single board, with the winning colour devouring the losing one. White can never be black no matter how hard it tries to and the same goes vice versa. Instead, they can only replace one another. White is white, black is black and two opposites can never merge. The only way for black and white to coexist harmoniously by having them both give up their original identity and turn grey.

*Title taken from Michael Jackson's Black or White. Thinking about that song now makes me feel old...

After midnight - a song by Yuna that I really digg.
